It started with a kiss

As our Bodas de Isabel are just around the corner, I would like you to have a look at this article about our medieval festival written by Annie Bennet and published in 1998 in The travel section of The Daily Telegraph. It is interesting to see our own fiesta through the eyes of a British journalist. You can also read the translation -by some guy from Villastar you might have heard of- which appeared a few days later in Diario de Teruel.
It Started With a Kiss

  1. Well-done, Javi. I haven´t heard of little bull's location at Nuns' Square. I googled Annie Bennet, now she has got an updated blog called: Mooching around Spain. It seems that she writes in a less polite style nowadays, and I like it. This post, thirteen years after, is another version of the elederly article. From my view, this friendship of Teruel is worth looking out for.

  2. You are right Javi, it is very curious to read about our fiesta through the eyes of this journalist. And as it happened to me when I arrived to Teruel eight years ago, it seems that she was impressed about this romantic story, also about the history that goes round this legend, and how the turolenses celebrate it. Thanks to her and others, our traditions and culture, which are so valious, can be known by another people and it makes me feel proud of the city where nowadays I live and I absolutely love.
